As children, you don’t give much thought to what mothers do on any given day. When you’re small, mothers seem mostly intent on getting you to do things you don’t want to do, like finishing your homework, eating your vegetables, washing behind your ears and going to bed on time.
These things are all necessary, but most children would agree that they aren’t usually much fun. It was hard to see then that the time and effort our mother put into raising us was a gift that we would one day come to appreciate more than we would ever know.
We are blessed to know many wonderful mothers in our circle of family and friends, and we marvel at the innumerable ways that they show their love. We draw inspiration from their strength and devotion, and we are grateful for all they do and share.
Today, we celebrate all mothers in the hopes that they understand how truly special they are, now and always.
